US-based Shen Yun Performing Arts continued its 2013 world tour at the Hyogo Performing Arts Center in Nishinomiya, Japan.

Okamoto Yan Yi from the Department of Social Services watched the first show and brought a group of friends back with him the next day.

[Okamoto Yan Yi, Representative from Department of Social Services]:
“It doesn’t matter how many times you watch Shen Yun, the meaning is still very deep.”

He said Shen Yun allowed him to understand the meaning of “Samadhi.” It’s a Buddhist term describing a state of mind that is tranquil and free of worldly thoughts.

[Okamoto Yan Yi, Representative from Department of Social Services]:
“In the Japanese Zen-Buddhist culture, there is a word “Samadhi.” Samadhi requires a person to be wholehearted and righteous. Shen Yun Performers are really illuminating the essence of human life with their performances, which is why the show touches so many people.”

Businessman Tomoji Kondo is seeing Shen Yun for the first time. He said that there aren’t enough words to describe the show.

[Tomoji  Kondo, President of NPO]:
“How do I even describe it properly? It was just wonderful, just spectacular! “Spectacular” isn't even close to do it justice! I was just so deeply moved by the show. It was like I was sucked into the dances. When I recovered, I realized the show was already over. I thought the performance was utterly spectacular! This performance completely separates itself from the ordinary political struggles of people. On a human level, it made me understand deep values and meanings.”

Shen Yun’s mission is to revive China’s 5,000 years of spiritual civilization. The company has now finished its tour of Japan, but will have several more performances in the United States.
