Paris Couture Week started Sunday (January 30) with Donatella Versace revealing her latest creations for Atelier Versace, the haute couture wing of the Italian label's fashion empire.
Versace talks about her glittering collection of fluorescent hues and real gold detailing in one of the most exquisite and expensive handmade-to-wear collections.
[Donatella Versace, Chief Designer]:
"Versace glamour has been evolving during the times and today in this collection I see a woman that she wants to reveal but she wants also to conceal."
Celebrities in attendance included actress Uma Thurman.
[Uma Thurman, American Actress]:
"They make beautiful gowns for me all the time so it is my great pleasure to be here and see their couture show."
Playing with light, the team of designers headed by Versace chose tiny sequins, creating shimmering fabrics with the use of crystals.
The star of the catwalk was 43 year-old top model Naomi Campbell, who wowed audiences wearing a black micro sequin jacket.
Versace, founded by the late Gianni Versace in 1978, is best-known for its silhouettes and over-the-top glamor.
