The three astronauts who took part in China's recent space mission by manned spacecraft Shenzhou-10 met with the press on Thursday in Beijing.
Nie Haisheng, Zhang Xiaoguang and Wang Yaping were in high spirits after a 15-day medical quarantine period following their return to the Earth from space.
The astronauts had conducted space medical experiments, technical tests, and delivered a lecture to students on the earth about basic physics principles.
The only female astronaut during China's latest space mission, Yaping says hosting a live lecture that was streamed to thousands of children was an unforgettable experience.
[Wang Yaping, Astronaut]:
"I spent an unforgettable 40 minutes with teachers and students on the earth from orbit more than 300 kilometers above the earth. I was excited to hear their curiosity about and aspiration for space. I was happy to realize myself the meaning of my job directly during the lecture and I was also happy to be a teacher.”
More than sixty-million students and teachers at about eighty-thousand middle schools across China watched the live broadcast on television.
