Downpours and hailstorms that hit Inner Mongolia in north China have left at least 8 people dead.

Torrential rain and hail that suddenly lashed the city of Erdos, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on Sunday killed at least eight people and left another one missing as of 03:00AM on Monday..
The severe convective weather started around 03.10PM on Sunday. Some residential houses have been inundated and road traffic was severely affected.
Meanwhile, a hailstorm hit a central part of Inner Mongolia. According to residents, the hailstorm lasted for about 10 minutes, damaging vehicles parked outdoors and greenhouses in vegetable patches.
"I believe the hailstorm lasted for about five or six minutes. The vegetables outside were flattened and the greenhouse was full of holes," said Li Min, a local vegetable grower.
The National Meteorological Center (NMC) said heavy rain or rainstorms will pelt central and eastern parts of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the next few days.
Some of those regions may also see thunderstorms or hail.
