The documentary “Mistaken for Strangers” opens the Tribeca Film Festival and the Red Carpet was a star studded event.
Tom Berninger director of the documentary, which follows the life and times of the fastest growing Indie rock group, ‘The National’ was on hand at the premiere as well as the groups’ musicians.
Celebrities such as Liza Minnelli and co- founder of the festival, Robert De Niro graced the Red Carpet.
Robert De Niro stopped to talk to NTD as well as Liza Minnelli about the work involved make the Tribeca Film Festival a success.
Tonight’s kick off event also marked the opportunity for independent movie shakers and makers to shine.
Marshall Curry, Executive producer of Mistaken For Strangers explains his part of the documentary that is rocking the nation.
According to Tribeca Film Festival website, "over 1400 films from 80 countries worldwide were since its conception in 2002.. and a estimated $750 million in economic activity for New York City will be generated within 12 days".
