Is China’s Media Getting Freer?

For decades, mainland China had been dominated by state-run media. But recent years have seen significant changes. These days, besides state-run media, there are thousands of commercial newspapers, radio stations, and TV broadcasters. And with more than half a billion Internet users, China also has an increasingly active online community.

Sarah Cook, Senior Research Analyst for East Asia at Freedom House joins China Focus to talk about  what all these changes mean for China’s press freedom.
