A New Era of Journalism (and Censorship) in China

Many people in the West take for granted the ability to go online and browse freely. But in China, with the Great Firewall and a vast censorship apparatus, it’s not that easy. But even with all of the filtering and restrictions, the Internet has made it possible for hundreds of millions of Chinese to connect like never before.

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has come out with a special report on the issue called Challenged in China: The Shifting Dynamics of Censorship and Control. Joining China Focus today is Bob Dietz, the Asia Program Coordinator for CPJ.
