Bus Crash Kills 15 in China's West Xinjiang Region
Fifteen people were killed after a bus plunged 40 meters down a steep slope and crashed into a roadside valley in northwestern China.
The accident occurred at around 5 p.m. local time (0900 GMT) on Tuesday (June 18) when the bus, with 36 people on board, was driving back to the city of Chiangji from a nearby tourist spot.
The other 21 people were all injured to various degrees, and had been rushed to local hospitals.
All the passengers were employees of a local shopping mall, who attended the one-day outing organized by their company.
Poor visibility due to heavy fog was to blame for the crash, according to preliminary investigation.
